Ibadan Traffic Stalls as Protesters Demand Rescue of Kidnapped Students

Protesters in Ibadan have blocked Iwo Road to demand the immediate rescue of schoolchildren and teachers kidnapped in Oyo State.

Travelers and drivers are currently stuck in Ibadan after demonstrators blocked the key Iwo Road intersection. Organized by the Take It Back Movement, the assembly began at 10 am to urge authorities to bolster security and liberate students and teachers recently seized in the Orire area.

National Coordinator Juwon Sanyaolu stated that the group would persist in its public outcry until every captive is safely returned. He expressed frustration that government officials remain inactive while victims endure detention.

Sanyaolu further censured political figures for prioritizing the 2027 electoral cycle over the escalating national security crisis. He warned that unless state and federal leaders take decisive measures, citizens will continue to stage large-scale demonstrations across Nigeria to demand the release of all kidnapping victims.
