Senator Bamidele: Re-electing Governor Oyebanji Ensures Continued Progress in Ekiti

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has hailed Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election as a triumph for development and political harmony in Ekiti State, marking a historic second term for the incumbent.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has praised Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji following his successful re-election bid, characterizing the win as a definitive validation of the governor’s administrative performance. Bamidele, who headed the APC campaign council in the state, noted that this new mandate ensures the ongoing delivery of public services and speeds up the state’s developmental goals.

The electoral results were officially announced by Professor Adenike Oladiji, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, who served as the returning officer. Governor Oyebanji secured a decisive victory with 319,224 votes, significantly ahead of PDP candidate Dr. Wole Oluyede, who received 40,543 votes, and ADC representative Dare Bejide, who tallied 12,872 votes.

In his statement, Bamidele highlighted the governor’s success in fostering a climate of cooperation and unity. He credited Oyebanji with moving the state’s political culture away from previous cycles of hostility toward a more collaborative approach. Notably, the governor is the first in Ekiti since 1999 to secure consecutive terms, a milestone Bamidele attributes to his skill in building consensus among political stakeholders, including former governors.

Looking forward, Bamidele expressed confidence that this second term will solidify existing reforms and enhance Ekiti’s reputation for stable governance. He concluded by thanking the electorate for their peaceful participation and expressed gratitude to the APC leadership for their contributions to the campaign’s success.
