Taraba residents report suspicious Renewed Hope registration scam

Youths in Takum, Taraba State, have petitioned Governor Agbu Kefas to investigate a suspected scam where individuals are charging residents fees for a fake Renewed Hope registration program.

A group of worried young people in the Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State has urged the government to probe claims of fraudulent registration schemes targeting local residents. These individuals allege that unnamed persons are demanding N1,000 from both the elderly and young people, falsely claiming the funds are necessary for enrollment in the federal Renewed Hope initiative.

Christopher Tanimu, who signed a protest letter on behalf of the group, noted that this is not an isolated incident within the region. The group informed Governor Agbu Kefas that these predatory actions have caused significant financial strain and anxiety, especially among the area’s most vulnerable inhabitants. The letter requests an immediate official intervention to stop the exploitation and hold those responsible accountable.

The youths reaffirmed their support for the current administration, stating they have faith in the governor’s commitment to addressing the issue. They concluded their appeal with well-wishes for the continued stability and advancement of Takum, Taraba State, and the nation.
