Election Outcome
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has officially claimed the All Progressives Congress senatorial ticket for the Adamawa North district. Wilfred William, the primary election returning officer, confirmed the results on Tuesday following a collation process in Mubi-North.
The voting took place throughout five local government areas: Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, and Mubi South. Out of 174,514 accredited ballots, Fintiri received 160,579 votes. His opponents, Hamisu Medugu and Abdulrahaman Kwacham, finished with 6,977 and 6,958 votes, respectively.
Broader Party Developments
Following this result, Fintiri was formally declared the winner for the zone. Earlier that day, Dr. Felix Tangwami, who previously served as Fintiri’s Commissioner of Health, was declared the nominee for the Adamawa South senatorial district. Meanwhile, the primary election for the Adamawa Central district was deferred and did not occur as originally scheduled.
