The Kebbi State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to improving internal security, particularly in the battle against banditry and other criminal activities.

Deputy Governor Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida made this commitment on Monday when he hosted officers from the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, who were visiting the state for a study tour.

Senator Tafida praised the Nigerian Army for its ongoing efforts to maintain peace and combat insurgency, terrorism, and armed banditry. He also reiterated the state government’s readiness to collaborate with security agencies to ensure lasting peace in Kebbi.

The Deputy Governor highlighted the state’s rich agricultural and mineral resources, noting that Kebbi is a leading producer of rice and wheat in Nigeria. He emphasized that the government is exploring partnerships with the Army to improve security and maximize the state’s economic potential.

Group Captain D.E. Daniel, leader of the visiting team, explained that the tour was part of the Army School’s research initiative to evaluate security dynamics in various states.

He commended Kebbi’s strategic importance and hospitality, mentioning that the team was engaging with local security stakeholders to gain insights and propose practical solutions to the state’s security challenges.
