Nyesom Wike Shuts Down FCT Federal Housing Sales Secretariat

Minister Nyesom Wike has ordered the immediate closure of the FCT Federal Government Houses sales secretariat, transitioning all relevant responsibilities to the Department of Land Administration.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has ordered the immediate shutdown of the Secretariat for the now-defunct Ad-hoc Committee on the Sales of Federal Government Houses. This move was announced on Wednesday by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.

The Minister has also sanctioned the formation of a new division within the Department of Land Administration. This unit will now oversee tasks previously managed by the dissolved committee regarding the sale of federal properties in the territory. While the Secretariat was originally kept open to address post-assignment issues after the committee finished its primary work, it is now being permanently shuttered.

Citizens seeking assistance with federal property sales must now direct their inquiries to the Department of Land Administration. Furthermore, the public should remain cautious, as the committee and its office are officially defunct. Officials warned residents to beware of imposters posing as staff members of the disbanded organization.
