Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has officially closed the secretariat previously managed by the now-defunct Ad-hoc Committee on the Sales of Federal Government Houses in Abuja. This directive was announced on Wednesday by Lere Olayinka, the minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.
The minister has established a specialized division within the Department of Land Administration to manage tasks previously handled by the dissolved committee. While the secretariat had remained operational to address leftover concerns from the committee’s prior work, it has now been permanently shuttered.
Officials are directing the public to engage exclusively with the Department of Land Administration for any matters concerning the sale of federal government properties. The FCT Administration also issued a strong warning against individuals claiming to represent the disbanded committee or its secretariat, noting that these entities are no longer active.
