Nyesom Wike Dismisses Claims of Campaign Role Lobbying

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has officially denied reports suggesting he is lobbying for a leadership role in the APC Presidential Campaign Council, emphasizing his commitment to President Tinubu’s success.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has rejected media claims that he is seeking the position of Director General for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council. Speaking via his aide, Lere Olayinka, the minister clarified that he has never engaged in discussions regarding the council’s leadership or membership.

Reports published earlier in the week named Wike as a candidate for the role, alongside other political figures. The minister, who is currently abroad, stated that his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu does not depend on holding an official position within the campaign structure. He emphasized that his primary objective is to secure strong support for the President in Rivers State and the FCT.

Wike noted that upon his return to Nigeria, his focus will remain on implementing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and delivering development projects. He affirmed that he remains dedicated to the President’s success without needing a formal title within the party’s campaign organization.
