The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected the interim report from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding the fraudulent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi argued that the report ignores the deeper issue of how a non-existent organization gained significant government support.
The party highlighted that the so-called agency secured physical office space within the Federal Secretariat, utilized government vehicles, received security protection, and even obtained a N1.3 billion allocation in the 2026 budget. Abdullahi suggested the ICPC report serves as a damage control effort aimed at protecting government officials rather than uncovering the truth. He emphasized that budgetary provisions leave a clear audit trail and cannot simply appear by accident.
Regarding the prosecution of the primary suspect, Adeyemi, the ADC maintained that blaming one person is insufficient. The party pointed out that even if certain documents were forged, such as the alleged signature of the Chief of Staff, it does not explain how these documents passed through multiple layers of official verification. The ADC called for a transparent investigation that holds all negligent public officials accountable, rather than focusing solely on one individual to minimize public embarrassment.
