Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, stated on Saturday that the economic strategies implemented by President Bola Tinubu have significantly boosted national development funding. The governor made these remarks while hosting the Presidential Media Team and Renewed Hope Ambassadors, who were visiting to evaluate various state and federal initiatives.
Sule highlighted that Nasarawa State has successfully completed projects valued at more than N90 billion utilizing the augmented allocations received from the federation account. Notably, these infrastructure improvements were accomplished entirely without reliance on bank loans. The governor praised President Tinubu for his decisive early actions, specifically the elimination of fuel subsidies and the liberalization of foreign exchange rates.
According to Sule, monthly allocations to the state jumped from N4.5 billion to a range of N14 billion to N16 billion following these reforms. These funds have been directed toward critical sectors including education, healthcare, and agriculture. Specifically, the state has invested in skills acquisition centers for both current residents and retirees to foster economic independence.
Furthermore, the governor noted that two lithium processing plants in Nasarawa are operating successfully due to the favorable industrial climate fostered by the Tinubu administration. Chief Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, who led the visiting delegation, remarked that the public is now starting to benefit from the difficult decisions made by the administration in 2023.
