Franco Mastantuono Sent to Fiorentina by Real Madrid on Loan

Real Madrid has loaned out 18-year-old Argentine playmaker Franco Mastantuono to Fiorentina for the upcoming season.

Serie A club Fiorentina confirmed on Friday that they have secured Argentine midfielder Franco Mastantuono on a season-long loan from Real Madrid. The 18-year-old talent will remain in Italy for the duration of the current campaign as per the deal reached between the two clubs.

Mastantuono joined the Spanish giants last summer following an impressive tenure with River Plate. At just 17 years and nine months old, he made headlines by becoming the youngest athlete to play in an official match for the Argentina senior national team. Real Madrid invested approximately 63 million euros, roughly 72 million dollars, to bring him to the Bernabeu on a six-year contract.

During his debut season with the Madrid side, the teenager featured in 35 matches and netted three goals. Despite his involvement, he struggled to secure a permanent role in the starting lineup and was ultimately left off the national squad for the World Cup.
