The British Grand Prix is set to remain a staple of the MotoGP World Championship schedule through 2028. Organizers have finalized a deal to extend their collaboration with Silverstone, ensuring the circuit continues to host the event for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
Silverstone reclaimed its role as the venue for the British Grand Prix in 2010 after a 24-year hiatus, succeeding Donington Park. The 2026 iteration of the race is scheduled for August 9, marking the 12th stop on the 22-race calendar. Last year, Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi claimed victory at the circuit, where he currently holds fourth position in the championship rankings.
Beyond MotoGP, Silverstone remains a major hub for motorsport, hosting Formula 1 and the European Le Mans Series, with plans to rejoin the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2027. Silverstone CEO Stuart Pringle noted that this agreement highlights the track’s dedication to motorcycle racing. Carmelo Ezpeleta, the head of MotoGP Group, emphasized the United Kingdom’s significant role in the sport, praising the circuit for producing 11 different winners in the last 11 races held there.
