The Police Service Commission has officially authorized the deployment of eight fresh Commissioners of Police to various state commands. Additionally, a new Commandant has been named for the Nigeria Police Academy located in Wudil, Kano State. Commission representative Torty Njoku confirmed these assignments on Wednesday.
The newly appointed commissioners include Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo for Abia, Ayodeji Faniyan for Plateau, and Saka Adewale Ajao for Bayelsa. Further postings include Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to Cross River, Nnanna Oji Ama to Anambra, Patrick Daaor to Edo, Tijani Murtala to Jigawa, and Samuel Erale Etaifo to Delta.
AIG Auwal Musa Mohammed was selected to lead the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil. With a career spanning over three decades, AIG Mohammed possesses extensive expertise in investigative work and intelligence operations. He holds advanced degrees from Bayero University and has previously held leadership roles including Commandant of the Police College, Maiduguri, and Commissioner of Police in Bauchi.
These staffing changes follow recent officer promotions. The commission intends for these appointments to bolster national security efforts and meet specific operational needs. During a briefing with the newly assigned officers, Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (JSC, rtd) emphasized the importance of impartiality, diligence, and adherence to the rule of law while performing their new duties.
