Commissioner Dongshal Urges Taraba Police to Prioritize Professionalism and Legal Force

Taraba State Police Commissioner Moorkwap S. Dongshal has instructed officers to combine their tactical training with professional conduct and legal use of force to better protect citizens.

Moorkwap S. Dongshal, the Commissioner of Police for Taraba State, has called on officers to maintain high standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism when engaging with the public. He delivered this message on Tuesday in Jalingo following a specialized workshop focused on tactical maneuvering and firearm proficiency for Police Constables.

This initiative aims to improve the readiness and operational capabilities of the force in addressing modern security threats. Dongshal praised the participants for their dedication, reminding them that their new tactical skills must be balanced with sound judgment, respect for human rights, and compliance with Nigerian law.

The commissioner specifically highlighted the necessity of following Force Order 237 and standard Rules of Engagement. He stressed that any application of force must be legally justified, essential, and proportional to the situation. Dongshal confirmed that the Taraba Command remains dedicated to ongoing personnel development, echoing the objectives set by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu to boost overall operational effectiveness and public safety.
