Kalu Kalu, a legal practitioner and high-ranking official within the African Democratic Congress, has accused President Bola Tinubu of falsifying his academic history. The allegation was made during a recent interview on the Politics Today segment broadcast by Channels Television.
This dispute follows the release of candidate information by the Independent National Electoral Commission in preparation for the 2027 election cycle. Kalu pointed out that the President excluded primary and secondary school qualifications from the documentation provided to the commission.
Highlighting findings from Chicago State University, Kalu stated that the President falsely claimed to have graduated from Government College Lagos in 1970. He noted that the institution was not founded until 1974. Furthermore, Kalu asserted that records submitted to the university regarding a Cambridge GCE certificate were fraudulent. He also highlighted inconsistencies between current submissions and sworn affidavits from 1999, which previously cited different primary and secondary education claims.
