Boko Haram Kills 3 and Abducts Fishermen in Borno
Suspected Boko Haram militants have killed at least three individuals and kidnapped more than a dozen fishermen in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack took place in the remote village of Malamyawri, located in Cross Kawu ward near Lake Chad, on the night of Sunday, November 10, 2024.
A source from the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) stated that the attackers arrived around 11:45 pm, gathered the villagers, and killed two fishermen.
Thirteen others were said to have been abducted, and another body was later found in the bush.
A local government official confirmed reports of a large presence of insurgents spotted around the Jemu area in Cross Kawu ward.
The official expressed concern for the safety of residents and urged for immediate military intervention, pointing out that the insurgents have been observed carrying weapons without any vehicles.
This attack follows recent operations by Chadian troops, who pursued the terrorists into Kukawa Local Government Area, where many are believed to have sought refuge.
