Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu, a member of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, is currently being sought by the military. Authorities claim he was involved in the illicit sale of army uniforms to terrorist groups and various criminal factions.
Major Oluwatope Aluko, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Ordnance Corps, noted that investigations suggest Amutu left his post at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory without authorization on June 3, 2026. Military leaders have since declared him wanted to facilitate his capture and subsequent prosecution under established military codes.
The Corps emphasized its strict stance against indiscipline, noting that any soldier caught providing military gear to unauthorized persons will face severe legal consequences. Military officials have requested that the public share any relevant information regarding Amutu’s whereabouts with the nearest security agency or army unit.
Reaffirming its dedication to professional standards, the Ordnance Corps promised to tighten internal security protocols. They further committed to investigating all reports of misconduct to ensure those who compromise national security are held accountable.
