A targeted drone operation conducted by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has resulted in the deaths of more than 20 fighters affiliated with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). The attack focused on a strategic logistics and assembly site situated in the Southern Lake Chad region.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the strike occurred on July 21 at Kila Bariya. Intelligence reports had pinpointed the location as a hub for both militants and their essential supplies. Post-strike evaluations verified the death toll, noting that many additional combatants suffered severe injuries.
Beyond the loss of personnel, the operation successfully obliterated over 30 motorcycles earmarked for future militant raids. Furthermore, the military destroyed a large food depot containing supplies seized from local farming populations. Officials stated that the mission significantly hampers the group’s mobility and logistical endurance across Marte, Ngala, and Dikwa in Borno State. This ongoing air campaign continues to utilize intelligence-led strikes to dismantle terrorist infrastructure throughout the North-East.
