Isaac Fayose, the younger sibling of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has publicly criticized a recent federal appointment offered to his brother. In a social media video, he alleged that President Bola Tinubu only provided the position after Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, paid a visit to him.
On Monday, President Tinubu designated Ayodele Fayose as the chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency. Isaac Fayose expressed skepticism regarding the timing, questioning why the administration waited until after the interaction with Peter Obi to extend such an offer. He further contrasted this role with other appointments, noting that figures like Reno Omokri have secured ambassadorial positions despite not having served as governors.
According to Isaac, his brother previously stated he had no interest in becoming a senator, minister, or director-general following his tenure at the Government House. While Isaac suggested his brother might decline the role, he acknowledged that the decision ultimately rests with Ayodele Fayose.
