An abandoned newborn baby has been rescued in 8 Miles, Calabar Municipal Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The day-old baby boy was found discarded at the former Ekosin fuel station, near a refuse dump.

According to an eyewitness, the baby was discovered just a few hours after being left there by an unknown person.

A nearby resident alerted passersby, who quickly took action to ensure the baby’s safety.

The infant is now receiving care, and efforts are underway to locate the suspected mother. Authorities are investigating the incident.
