Abubakar Malami and Rotimi Amaechi convene in Abuja during ADC strategic talks

Former Justice Minister Abubakar Malami met with ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi in Abuja as the party continues its political preparations for the 2027 elections.

On Friday, Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, hosted Rotimi Amaechi for a private meeting at his residence in Abuja. Amaechi is currently the vice-presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The specific topics discussed during their encounter remain undisclosed.

This discussion followed a meeting between Amaechi and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal the previous day, marking ongoing efforts within the ADC to prepare for the 2027 general elections. Tambuwal praised Amaechi’s appointment, highlighting his background as a public servant and his dedication to democratic values. Tambuwal expressed that their collaboration aims to form a unified platform that restores public hope and provides strong leadership.

Furthermore, Tambuwal lauded a recent Federal High Court ruling that validated the ADC leadership under Senator David Mark, viewing it as a positive step for legal integrity. He stated that this decision allows the party to consolidate its internal structure to offer a viable political alternative for the nation. Amaechi is set to serve as the running mate to ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, with both names already submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission for the upcoming election.
