Dangote Refinery implements fourth fuel price cut in one month

The Dangote Refinery has cut petrol prices for the fourth time in a month, marking a cumulative reduction of N200 per litre as it seeks to stabilize local energy costs.

For the fourth time in four weeks, the Dangote Refinery has lowered its fuel prices in response to shifting crude oil costs. The latest update, shared via a statement on Thursday, lowers the price of petrol at the gantry to N1,075 per litre, down from N1,250. This change represents a total decrease of N200 per litre for petrol since May 30, 2026.

Alongside the petrol price adjustment, the facility also lowered the ex-depot prices for Automotive Gas Oil to N300 per litre and Jet A1 fuel to N520 per litre. Refinery officials noted that these recurring reductions highlight their goal of passing market benefits to Nigerians while keeping local production sustainable.

The company explained that products hitting the market were manufactured using crude purchased when costs were much higher. By grounding their pricing strategy in production economics rather than brief market volatility, they aim to avoid extreme price shifts. Furthermore, the refinery emphasized that domestic output currently meets national needs, which bolsters energy security, helps save foreign exchange, and stabilizes costs for consumers and businesses alike.
