Lagos State Police have taken 21-year-old Samson Onilewaji into custody following the discovery of a suspected human body part, several firearms, and various weapons in his possession. The arrest occurred during a standard traffic stop on the Lekki–Epe Expressway, where officers pulled over an unregistered bus carrying six people.
Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi confirmed that a search of the vehicle yielded a severed human right hand, two homemade pistols, a live cartridge, two axes, a POS terminal, and five bank cards. Onilewaji admitted to robbing three people and using the stolen POS machine and cards.
Authorities are currently working to locate the victims of these robberies and investigate the source of the human remains. Law enforcement is also seeking additional suspects linked to the crime. Police Commissioner Tijani Olaiwola Fatai stated that the force remains committed to addressing violent crime throughout the state.
