The 2026 FIFA World Cup has seen three nations officially removed from competition. Tunisia, Haiti, and Turkey have all failed to advance to the next stage.
Tunisia is the most recent team to be mathematically excluded from the tournament. Their exit was confirmed following a 4-0 loss to Japan at Estadio Monterrey in Guadalupe earlier today. This defeat leaves the team with no points after two Group F matchups, making it impossible for them to qualify for the Round of 32.
Prior to this match, the squad, known as the Carthage Eagles, suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Sweden. Tunisia is scheduled to play the Netherlands in their final group fixture shortly, but they have now joined Haiti and Turkey on the list of teams departing the competition.
