Chelsea captain Reece James has openly shared his disappointment regarding Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid. The Spanish giants secured the defender at the explicit request of their newly appointed head coach, Jose Mourinho.
The agreement includes a base fee of €55 million, approximately £47.5 million, with an additional €5 million in potential performance-related bonuses. During his four-year tenure at Stamford Bridge, Cucurella helped the club secure both the Club World Cup and the Conference League trophies.
Speaking to talkSPORT, James praised his former teammate as a top-tier talent and one of the finest left-backs in the game.
