Police Respond to Viral Video of Mother Giving Child Alcohol to Make Her Sleep

The Nigeria Police Force has responded to a viral video showing a mother feeding her infant daughter alcohol to reportedly help her sleep.

In the footage, the woman is seen holding a sachet of alcohol, which she opens and administers to the child.

Reacting via X, the police described the video as disturbing and confirmed an immediate investigation is underway. They condemned the act as both dangerous and illegal, warning against exposing children to harmful substances.

The force also appealed to the public for any information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the woman involved.
