Presidential Aide Segun Dada Responds After Nigerians Criticize President Tinubu For Saying He’d Clear His Schedule To Visit Benue Indigenes
Many Nigerians have criticized President Tinubu’s statement as insensitive and lacking urgency, especially given the scale of the violence in Benue State. Critics on social media questioned why the President would need to “adjust his programme” instead of prioritizing the lives lost and the insecurity in the region.
Some also accused him of treating the tragedy as a secondary matter, comparing his tone to that of someone announcing attendance at a casual event rather than responding to a national crisis.
‘’We should be able to manage our anger and frustrations. I sympathize with those who have lost their lives. I will adjust my programme and go and see Benue people on Wednesday” he said.
Reacting to the statement, a Twitter user called it “arrogant.”
In response, Segun Dada, Special Adviser to the President on New Media, defended Tinubu, arguing that critics would always find fault regardless of the President’s actions.
